I would certainly be disappointed if this movie doesn't get nominated for the best foreign language film in the academy awards. Farhan Akhtar is like the epitome of dedication towards Milkha Singh's character. He was running like a pro. Cinematography was just amazing. Many shots were just breathtaking. Direction was just perfect and the casting was sensibly done. Parallel storytelling kept the movie balanced between Milkha Singh's life and his sports career. The trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy did their job as always.
But one of all, Farhan Akhtar rocked. He has always given his best in every field he has ever stepped in to. Respect for Farhan Akhtar, respect for Milkha Singh, the true hero.

This film depicts story of a deeply flawed young man struggling to turn his life around. The movie reveals the generous good-hearted nature of Oscar, on whose life the story is based. The awards the film has won are well deserved, as the film-maker succeeds in presenting an unsparing look at Oscar's many failings even as he humanizes this young man whose life is largely unknown to the American public. In a quite amazing fashion, all of this is done through the lens of a single day in Oscar's life, with only the aid of one brief flash-back.
Despite his efforts and his kindness, Oscar is failing to transcend his past as much as he is succeeding in doing so. His struggle to change is fueled by his relationships with three women central to his life, and we are on the edge of our seats watching his relationships play out with them, knowing before the movie begins how it will end. It is a credit to the film-maker that he is able both to maintain that tension and at the same time to draw us into Oscar's world so effectively. This craftsmanship only underlines the tragedy of the final outcome more starkly.
It is sad that the review that wins pride of place on this website ignores Oscar and focuses on Officer Mehserle, who appears only briefly in the movie. The film does not demonize Officer Mehserle, and one might be tempted to do, but rather presents him as a blank slate. Surely, as those who witnessed the events appeared to do, and as the jury who found him guilty corroborated, we might well assume that he committed a crime. However, his motives are not suggested in the movie, his youth is clearly depicted, and his inexperience implied. Surely any professional, a doctor for example, who makes a mistake of motor memory under pressure and thus takes the life of another human being, should be held accountable for her actions to the full extent of the law.

In 2009, GI Joe hit the big screen with Rise of the Cobra. It would come to be loathed by both established fans and common viewers, seeing it as an overloaded, cartoony mess of a movie with absolutely no good justice done to the GI Joe franchise. I personally always knew this movie was bad, but it came to be one of my top guilty pleasures, thanks to its fantastically explosive and ambitious action sequences, its high-speed pacing, and overall lightheartedness, which makes it every bit as fun and endearing of an adventure as Stephen Sommers' other films.
Now, like any other sequel, this new GI Joe film is released with the promise of making things "better." Jon Chau sets out to make GI Joe far less cartoony, far darker, and much more like an actual action movie, rather than whatever the heck Rise of the Cobra was. Retaliation still has some cool hardware; some of the most inventive scenes include an awesome morphing motorcycle, robotic fireflies, and a boat with tank treads. Some of the funnest action scenes include a high-flying pursuit along ziplines on a mountain, complete with ninjas, plus plenty of gunfights, swordfights, and explosive vehicular mayhem.
This may all sound like great stuff for action fans. The problem is, the action is spaced out a lot more than in the first film, so the pacing suffers. Plus, most of the action is strangely drab and uninspired; the gunfights throughout the first half play out with little ambition or distinction, looking no different than any other action or war movie on the market. The real magic of GI Joe, with all the gizmos and cool fights, didn't sink in until the last half.
Even with the action spread out, the story doesn't really take the time to breathe. It's strangely choppy; plot points are slapped together without any transition or sense of passage, so the logos of the whole thing is royally screwed up. Characters continue to make stupid decisions, and stupid events continue to take place (especially in the film's finale, which despite its ambition might be one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in a while). Characterization is mostly absent, and actually felt stronger in the first film. Overall, this is not the film to see if you want a quality story, much less one that makes sense or has actual depth or feeling.
This film is made with adequate photography; there are plenty of cool-looking shots, but most fights are shot really close and with some erratic shaking, making it a little annoying to watch half of the time. Editing is good on a shot-by-shot basis, but the cutting of the scenes is too screwy to make the film work. Acting from the main cast is pretty bland, and I was especially mortified by the RZA's acting in his cameo appearance. Writing is awful, with really stupid dialogue and terrible plotting. The best that can be said is that this production uses okay-looking sets, props, costumes, and Henry Jackman's score is awesome at times.

Consider first the setting. It may be quiet and idyllic, but merry laughter and droll humor open the scene.
A group of middle-aged manboys are clowning around by the lake. They are long-time friends of The Hunt's central character, Lucas — bespectacled 42 year old ex-professor, recently divorced and too old to be waddling in the water like a toddler at playtime.
But the time is November in this unknown Danish village and everyone is having a good time in yet another get-together. Friends have known each other for years, people know people on a first name basis, many have lived here for generations and Lucas, is just another face in this jolly, close-knit community — nondescript and mellow, respected and well-liked.We are told that Lucas (played with artful and refined precision by Mads Mikkelsen) is not without the woes that come with modern adult life. Living alone and seeking custody of teenage son Marcus (newcomer Lasse Fogelstrøm), he is an ordinary man trying to rebuild from ground up as a kindergarten teacher. Immediately you can see that he is kind and friendly because Lucas walks young Klara home, and chats with her father, also his best friend, Theo. The two men share lasagna while fussing over pet dogs and hunting rifles. You acknowledge that Lucas has earned his place in this neighborhood and relationships are in complete accord.

I wont be dramatic or a 'drama queen ' here..I'll be 100% frank.My rating is 9.5/10 in terms of a horror movie.All my worst nightmares that almost killed me are in this movie.THIS ONE IS WAYYYY BETTER THAN V/H/S.Well here are my rating for the 5 stories in it.TAPE 47 : I wont tell you about it much but I'll rate it 9.5/10 . I think this one was the best of all.
CLINICAL TRIALS : It will give you chills for sure . 9/10 . It will torture you till the last moment . LOL.A RIDE IN THE PARK : Well even though of all the creatures/monsters , zombies are my favorite. but still this one is my least favorite . i ll rate it 7/10 , was kinda emotional though .
SACRED HEAVEN : This one wont give you chills but it will torture you with its gory/violent ways..I ll give it 8/10.SLUMBER PARTY ALIEN ABDUCTION : Well for me aliens are never that scary but this one really made them look like scariest things alive . This story might give you chills but it has 80's feel to it . 9/10
If you really want to watch something really scary this one is for you... For the first time in my entire life I watched a movie with my hands in front of the eyes for more than half of the time.. it is not for the faint hearted though.
